Recently, I ordered pizza through an app after picking up my three-year-old and seven-year-old from school. As we waited, I noticed my order ready on the counter. However, the employee at the register was on the phone and signaled me to "wait a second." That second turned into a frustrating 10 to 15 minutes.
This experience made me think: why can't more businesses adopt the practices of companies like Starbucks, where prepared items are promptly handed over to the customer? A simple act of prioritizing could have made this a seamless experience.
